PALO ALTO, CALIF. (September 19, 2001) – PlaneShark™, the online aviation publication, today launched a streamlined version of its website. Created with guidance from readers and advertisers, the new site brings faster, more intuitive access to key information.

The biggest change has been a basic division of PlaneShark into two parts, “Classifieds” and “Directories.” Classifieds are designed for advertisers offering goods for sale on an occasional basis. Directories are for companies offering goods or services on a sustained basis.

Real Estate Industry
PlaneShark has added two real estate directories, “Airparks” and “Aviation Real Estate Specialists.” The Airparks directory offers links to the websites of established airparks. Aviation Real Estate Specialists lists links to the websites of realtors that specialize in airports, airparks, airstrips, and hangars. These two additions bring the total number of real estate categories to four, including PlaneShark’s original classified categories “Airports, Airparks” and “Hangars,” both of which list specific properties for sale.

Insurance Industry
PlaneShark has placed a new focus on its “Aviation Insurance” directory, which lists links to the websites of agents, brokers, and underwriters. The directory currently lists 38 firms, located in the United States, Australia, Canada, England, and New Zealand.

Aircraft Industry
PlaneShark has added three aircraft industry categories: “Aircraft Manufacturers,” “Helicopter Manufacturers,” and “Kits & Experimental Aircraft Firms.” PlaneShark has also added several parts and equipment manufacturer directories, including “Avionics,” “Brakes,” “Engines,”
“Galley Equipment,” “Headsets,” “Landing Gear,” “Safety Equipment,” “Seats,” and “Tires.”

In addition, PlaneShark has added three organization directories: “Aerobatic Clubs,” “Associations,” and “Flying Clubs.”

The new version of PlaneShark contains a total of 53 classified categories and 35 directories, for a total of 88 categories. This reduced number was achieved primarily by consolidating many specific parts categories into a single “Parts & Equipment” classified category.
